Not my Raspberry Pi Homelab (not even close)

A couple weeks ago I completed the renovation of my Raspberry Pi Homelab. I am actually very proud of the results and I wanted to share it with the community.

Before going deeper into the post let me say this: don’t get too hyped up if you are an expert on this field. I didn’t do anything that any nerdy guy hasn’t done before, but I am still proud of it. In this post I want to talk about:

  • The architecture I had before and the one I have now
  • How I set everything up
  • The applications I am currently hosting

Homelab Infrastructure

Before upgrading my infrastructure I had:

  • 1 Raspberry Pi 1B+ (512 MB)
  • 2 Raspberry Pi 3B+ (1 GB)

Now I have:

  • 2 Raspberry Pi 4 (8 GB)
  • 2 Raspbery Pi PoE Hat+
  • 1 Netgear PoE Switch
  • 2 512 HDDs

Even if now I have only two devices they are much more powerful since the upgrade to the Raspberry Pi 4 (especially the 8 GB version) allowed me to switch to the 64 bit version of the OS and enhance the compatibility with a lot of applications. I also bought a beautiful peace of art to…
